Workshops

"Kimiko Warner-Turner is an art educator that truly honors the individual and collective creative process in all that she does with students! For several years it has been a pleasure to have her guide my students in psychotherapy training, as well as personal development workshop attendees, and watch them respond to her invitation to participate in Theater of the Oppressed/Optimist experiences. They consistently share how much it deepened their insights! My experience of her has inspired me to learn more about how the arts facilitate our exploration of pain and healing with a curious and accepting approach. Her kind, engaging, and encouraging way of presenting what she has been learning and practicing as an artist helps to increase students' curiosity about ways to express themselves. Kimiko is a gem! Wildwood Annual Multicultural Symposium

Exploring Theatre Arts as a conduit for Social Action by Kimiko Warner-Turner. Featurning Changing Ways.

What is Liberation Arts? Did you know that theatre games can lead to social action in a community? We’ll play improvisational games created by Augusto Boal, and create images (tableaus) that connect our personal stories with unsolved issues in our communities. We’ll challenge our notions of what community is as we celebrate our acting choices. How to Join Us: • Local schools are invited to participate, and may send up to 10 high school students and teachers. •
